The deliverable

The well condition report

A district cannot approve what it cannot read. Every well in Waterwell IQ™ produces a board-ready condition report: the recommendation and its budget, the score and how it was reached, the diagnosis and its evidence, the pump against its own curve, the well’s efficiency, its water margins and its construction checked, and the complete record it was computed from — its length set by how much is on record. It prints to US Letter, it fits in a board packet, and it has a line for the district engineer to sign.

The report

What the board sees first

This is the head of a real report from the demonstration district — a well whose specific capacity has not moved since its last rehabilitation while its wire-to-water efficiency has fallen from 72% to 52%. A maintenance system would call it healthy. It is losing $60,556 a year on the electricity bill alone.

The header of the report as it prints. Every figure is computed from the record beneath it at the moment the report is opened — nothing is stored, so a report run a year from now on the same record produces the same numbers.

  1. 1

    The decision, before the evidence

A board has twenty minutes and eleven agenda items. Page one states the recommendation, the budget it needs, and what deferring it for one cycle costs — then the summary that supports it. Nobody has to reach page three to know what is being asked for.

  2. 2

Condition now, and how the score was reached

Every component of the Well IQ score is printed with its weight and a plain-English note on why it is weighted that way. A score you cannot take apart is a score an engineer is right to distrust.

  3. 3

The diagnosis, with its evidence and its confidence

The cause, what the engine saw that points to it, what to do in what order, and the single test that would most reduce the remaining uncertainty. The confidence figure is printed whether it is high or low.

  4. 4

The pump against its own curve

Where the well is actually operating, against the manufacturer's head–capacity and efficiency curves, with the preferred and allowable ranges shaded. This is the page that turns "the pump seems weak" into a number.

  5. 5

The well itself: efficiency, water, and the drawing checked

The report carries what the well page shows: the lineshaft critical speed and whether the drive can reach it; well efficiency from the step test, with the loss that only costs power separated from the loss that delivers water; transmissivity with its method and range, and each screened layer’s share of the flow; the water over the bowls and over the screen, with the years left at the static trend; the five construction checks; and the well section with the pump drawn to scale in its casing, every casing and screen row citing its document.

  6. 6

The record it was all computed from

Every test, every intervention, every document on file — and the formulas. A figure in this report can be reproduced by hand from the rows printed beneath it. That is the difference between a report and a dashboard screenshot.

Valle Verde is a demonstration district. Its seven wells carry invented names and invented records — but the records are internally consistent field measurements, and every score, diagnosis, forecast and dollar figure on this page was computed from them by the same engine that runs for customers. Nothing here is illustrative.

The design

Why it is built this way

Nothing in it is stored

Specific capacity, efficiency, energy intensity, the score, the diagnosis and the lifecycle forecast are all computed at the moment the report is opened, from the raw flow, level, head and kilowatt readings printed on its last page. There is no cached number anywhere in the document. Correct a test from 2023 and every figure that depends on it moves, in this report and in every report that follows.

It shows its confidence

The Well IQ score prints with the weight of every component and a confidence figure that is simply the share of that weight the record actually supports. A well with no vibration reading and no screen interval scores against 78% of the weight and says so. A platform that hides thin data behind a confident-looking number is not doing an engineer any favors.

The arithmetic is published

The last page carries the formulas, the model assumptions, the discount rate and the failure hazard by band. Every derivation behind them is on the methodology page, in public, for anyone to check. A black box has no business near a public agency’s capital plan.

It separates the three causes

A falling well has three possible causes and they carry different invoices: the aquifer has dropped and nothing you spend will fix it; the screen is plugging and rehabilitation will recover it; or the pump has worn and the well is fine. The report names one, says how sure it is, and prints the evidence that ruled the other two out.

See it on your own wells

Send us what you already have — driller’s logs, efficiency tests, a spreadsheet of water levels, a filing cabinet’s worth of PDFs — and we will produce this report for one of your wells at no cost. You keep it whether or not you go further. If it earns the next step, a 30-day paid pilot covers three wells with their full historical backfill, and its fee is credited in full against onboarding.
